More details about the horrific murder of RonEly’s wife, ValerieEly, have been discovered.
As Spiel News..com has learned, the Tarzan actor’s son, CameronEly, who allegedly stabbed his mother to death and blamed his father for the killing, was once a Harvard University football quarterback.
PEOPLE reported that aHarvard Crimson article from2007’sfootball recruiting class says Ely “sports the conventional Harvard-recruited stats: a GPA above 4.0, questionable arm strength and supreme intelligence to go along with his ability to make ‘good decisions,’ according to prominent recruiting website Scout.com.”
Cameron, 30, graduated from the prestigious school with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology on May 24, 2012. He had been working as a security guard for the past two years.
Radar readers know Cameron died in a shoot-out with police this Tuesday, October 15. At the time, Santa Barbara County police had responded to a 911 call from the family’s Hope Ranch home.
In the call obtained by The Blast, the emergency dispatcher is heard saying that a “male reporting party” placed the call and claimed that the “father tried to attack the mother.”
Then, “someone defended someone” and then the male hung up the phone. When the dispatcher called back, a man responded who sounded “out of breath, unintelligible, and crying.”
When police arrived, Valerie Ely, 62, was dead from stab woulds at the scene. Ron, 81, was distraught, and pointed police in the direction of his son, Cameron, who had run outside.
Police confirmed to reporters that Cameron “posed a threat,” which is why they fired their guns at him and shot him dead.
