Kevin Hart and the two people who were with him in a shocking September 1 car crash have all reportedly obtained lawyers and are expecting potential lawsuits.
According to a website, the comedian, his wife Eniko’s personal trainer Rebecca Broxterman and the driver of Hart’s custom vehicle, Broxterman’s fiance, Jared S. Black, all sustained injuries from the crash and have hired attorneys.
It’s been reported that the couple could sue Hart for negligence — as his 1970 Plymouth Barracuda lacked safety harnesses or airbags.
The car company may also be under fire for the vehicle’s lack of safety. It was responsible for the customization of the car, and was supposed to refuse the job once the workers receive a request to customize the classic car without a safety harness.
As for Black, who was the one driving the car, he’s not yet off the hook as he must wait until authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
As readers know, The Upside actor, 40, was recently released from the hospital following his involvement in the terrible car crash.
At the time, Hart and Black, 28, were transported to the hospital with severe back injuries, while Broxterman, 31, “suffered only complaint of pain” at the scene and sought her own aid, the CHP said.
A video of the accident showed that Hart’s classic muscle car wound up deep in a gully about 10 feet off the road after smashing through wooden fencing along the roadside in the Malibu Hills.
Rescuers reportedly had to saw the roof off the car to get everyone out.
Hart later began his physical rehabilitation at Northridge Hospital Medical Center in Los Angeles and was eventually discharged, but as Radar reported, he could face at least four months of physical therapy.
Now, lawsuits are expected.
