After almost 7 years of avoiding extradition after seeking asylum in the Ecuadorean embassy in London. Mr Assange, 47, has been arrested and has since been in police custody. Mr Assange took refuge at the embassy in 2012 to avoid extradition to Sweden over a sexual assault case that has since been dropped.
The Ecuadorean president, Lenin Moreno, said it withdrew his asylum after Julian Assange repeatedly violated rules laid by the Embassy.
He said the country had reached its limit on Mr Assange’s behaviour after he intervened in the internal affairs of other states. Most recently being when Wikileaks leaked Vatican documents.
This has led to the confirmation of suspicion that Mr Assange is still involved with Wikileaks and interfering in other states internal affairs.
Scotland Yard said it was invited into the embassy by the ambassador after they withdrew asylum from Julian Assange. Mr Assange faces a charge of skipping bail in 2012. This could lead to an extradition to the United States for publishing secrets on the Site.
